I have 3 pairs of El Naturalista shoes now & I love each one. They seem to be made for my feet from the moment I put them on. No sliding of my foot forward into the toe box with these pumps, unlike many womens pumps. They do soften further as they break in, too, but they are very sturdy and look terrific. I have to toss an expensive pair of Naturalizers because the leather on the inner heel has worn off just from walking, & I don't even hit my heels together much. So far, this brand is wearing very well; the ones I've had for 2 months look brand new. A size 39 seems to be perfect for my slightly wide (since having kids) 8.5-9M foot, though I can see a 40 being a little bit roomier without being too big (each size increment in UK sizing seems to be less than a full half-size increment in US sizing). The heel height on these is just enough to lengthen the leg & still be comfortable for prolonged standing or walking. LOVE them!
