Let me start off by saying: "I love Clarks." Normally. I have several pairs of Clarks. I also love patent leather. And hate the fact that pumps are becoming increasingly impossible for me to wear.

So, when I saw a Clarks pump in patent leather - I was ecstatic!

I normally wear an 8 1/2 - 9 ladies, but owning other Clarks shoes, I knew that they normally fit me at an 8 1/2.

Here come the shoes! So happy. Just like the picture! Can't wait to try them!

And now, the sad news...

They didn't fit properly. My heel was slipping at each step. Since I never wear an 8, it never occurred to me that I should consider that size shoe.

I had an event to attend where heels were required, and after standing in these shoes for several hours, I thought I was going to die. I'm sure it's not the Clarks... it's just that pumps are not easily worn by someone in their mid-50s. So, while I was looking to my favorite brand of shoe to save me... it didn't in this instance. I really don't want to return them - they're so beautiful. Maybe I'll put them in a shadow box and hang them on my wall.
